Quick update, you shouldn’t need to work with CS to get your character righted - just follow the in game prompts and you should be good to go. As @Delakron said, apologies for the delay in getting character back in shape
Hey there!
Due to a character name conflict issue during the world merge process, the character was in a holding pattern. Unfortunately, @bohlvai your character had to be temporarily renamed in order to get it through the pipes again (if you will). You’ll have to work with CS to get your name fixed up, and the CS manager has been briefed on the situation.
We will be looking into mitigations to prevent this situation from occurring again in the future and what went wrong/how best to internally escalate these types of situations better for speedier resolutions.
Our sincere apologies for the significant inconvenience (and scare that your character was gone), although I’m happy that we were ultimately able to get you reunited with your hard work again.
I think your feedback and frustration on how long it’s been is totally fair. Going through CS was the proper way to get started and unfortunately there’s nothing we can do to go back in time and undo the experience you’ve had but at the risk of sounding cliched, we can aim to do better next time. For the community team, we don’t have a ton of insight into some issues but we can escalate. Apologies if my original response seemed short or dismissive of your issue because of that.
We’re escalating this internally to see if we can get an update.
Thanks, that one should be fixed now.
Thanks all! Looking into it.
Thanks for your feedback everyone!
We’ve made adjustments to the rewards based on the feedback/data. The PTR has not been updated to reflect the final state of the Leaderboards. We’re also aware of two issues we’re working to resolve, so we will be launching with the following noted:
There’s a lot of great feedback here and as with most feedback, we get a spectrum (some contradictory, some we won’t implement, others we’d love to implement but there’s no quick way to do so, but all helpful to evaluate). If a change wasn’t made, it does not necessarily indicate that it never will be! We’re looking forward to hearing everyone’s feedback when it hits the live game on the 7th!
Neither of these issues will impact rewards gained, so it just makes sense to move forward with fixing them as soon as we can versus holding Leaderboards any longer.
Combat is always changing. Metas will shift, some weapons may feel (or genuinely be) unbalanced. There’s no need to hold off before any changes, otherwise you’re always holding off. Each week is a new chance to rank, each quarter a new chance to rank, so I’m unclear what the benefit to waiting is.
I misunderstood your point, apologies. My comment about different teams was geared toward the idea that combat changes are impacted (in terms of timeline) by the Leaderboard being released.
Different teams are working on different features simultaneously, not impacting other teams’ work by pushing forward different systems.

This was the intent, but I understand the frustration and how it came across for those playing. Often when we join PTR, the request is to do things we wouldn’t do on live, like spawn giant mobs and teleport people. I also teleported players from the other team to create a small space duel, but that’s not what happened. While the intent was to lighten the mood and have fun in PTR, I admit that’s not how it came across to everyone and apologize.
I also understand the frustration with the War not launching, and I thoroughly apologize for those who took the time to prep for the war only for it to not launch. It was never our intent to bait anyone and we are taking measures to do our best to avoid this moving forward.
As for the broader reason people were upset - Muskets balancing, the PTR not having combat balance, and more - we are listening and learning from these experiences.
Greetings again, Adventurers!
With today’s announcement about Leaderboards launching on February 7, we will be closing and archiving this thread. Thank you for all your thoughts and feedback and please continue to leave your comments about Leaderboards in the appropriate sections of the forums.
See you in Aeternum!
Thanks for the info everyone. If you notice any other words that are causing odd forum behavior please drop them here so we can investigate further what’s causing it. Hopefully it was a short term issue and won’t resurface.
Huh, that’s weird and was hopefully just a blip. I did a test post and it seems to be working now. Can you let us know if it’s still acting up on your end so we can look into it further?
Leaderboards have been re-enabled in PTR. No significant changes were made to the player facing side at this time. Thank you for your patience!
The honest answer here is that a lot is coming to Aeternum and in the cycle of development, it’s just around the corner. In the cycle of the player, we’ve often shared when it’s weeks or even days away. The expectations set did not quite match the language used, which we entirely understand. So for us, it feels “soon!!” but we understand that in this case - especially in relation to the past updates - that feels longer than normal, but I’m personally excited to share more and I think it’ll become clear when we do (which I know isn’t the ideal response).
Updates are incoming and we hope that when we’re ready to share more concrete timing and details, it’ll live up to expectations. We look forward to your feedback when that time comes!
